Happy November!
This is my birthday month and to celebrate I’m giving away prizes! First, a $100 Amazon or B&N gift card – all you hafta do is either be on my mailing or sign up before the 30th – and second, I’ll be giving away winner’s choice of any of my titles, plus a $5 gift card at random to folks who leave a comment on one of my posts. I’ll be blogging periodically throughout the month, sometimes here and sometimes on other sites, so be sure and watch to see where I land next… 🙂
But today I’m kicking things off by talking about favorite times of year… What’s yours? Is it winter, with Christmas lights, snowmen and hot toddies? What about spring when everything *springs* back to life? Or it is summer with school vacations, swimming suits and baseball?
Me? My favorite is autumn. Loooooove autumn! I love the shorter days and longer nights (Did y’all remember to turn your clocks back this past weekend?), the crisp but not yet cold air, breaking out my fuzzy jammies and snuggling on the couch with my honey. 😉
I know some people aren’t so crazy about the months leading into winter. They protest that all the plants and trees *die.* But nothing dies – everything just gets ready for a nice, long sleep. (And what sane adult wouldn’t want to sleep for months on end?) Besides if the plants and trees didn’t *die,* then you wouldn’t have my most favorite part of fall—the colors.
I remember the glorious abundance of reds, yellows and oranges from growing up in the Midwest. I now reside in the high, dry desert region of the Sierra Mountains with fall colors that are more often shades of yellow and gold…
…that doesn’t mean we don’t get pops of brilliant color…
And while we don’t have a huge volume of rich and dazzling fall colors, the desert offers other beauty…
Whatcha think? 😉
Remember to share your favorite time of year and why for the chance to win one of my titles and a $5 GC. And don’t forget to signup for my mailing list (if you haven’t already) for the chance at a $100 gift card. (And be sure to leave your email addy with your comment…)
Until next time – Happy Reading!
